After the Wedding

From the very first moment we met at the wedding, he was gentle with me. When I started tearing up during the ceremony, celebrating our friend’s marriage, he quietly handed me a tissue. Even at the after-party, he stayed by my side, kept the conversation going, and looked after me. And when he said he’d hoped I would come to the after-party, my heart fluttered more than I expected. The mood slowly deepened between us, and then he suggested we grab a drink elsewhere, just the two of us. So we slipped out quietly together.
