Proposal for Love

Three months since we went from friends to lovers. We fought often over trivial things, so on the day we started dating, we made a “relationship contract” to keep ourselves from breaking up. I thought those little rules connected the two of us like a cute joke -- but maybe that was just my own illusion. If it’s still this hard despite all this effort, doesn’t that mean the contract is meaningless? Just as that thought crossed my mind, my boyfriend walked into the room.
